Legal Information & Notices
Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of SiteOK, including the website at site-ok.net and the web application at app.site-ok.net (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Operator
The Service is operated by YJS Lab ("we", "us", "our"), based in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. Contact: [email protected].
2. The Service
SiteOK provides automated monitoring of publicly reachable URLs, including availability checks and, for HTTPS URLs, SSL certificate checks. When we detect an issue based on our checks, we may send notifications to email addresses you configure.
The Service is provided on an "as available" basis. Monitoring results depend on network conditions, third-party infrastructure, and the configuration you provide. We do not guarantee that every incident will be detected or that every notification will be delivered without delay.
3. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. You are responsible for:
- providing accurate account information;
- keeping your credentials secure;
- all activity under your account;
- ensuring you have the right to monitor the URLs you add.
You may use anonymous trial access where offered. Converting to a registered account may be required to keep monitoring data beyond trial limits.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- monitor URLs you do not own or lack permission to monitor;
- use the Service to attack, scan, or disrupt third-party systems beyond normal HTTP(S) availability checks;
- attempt to bypass rate limits, security controls, or access restrictions;
- reverse engineer, resell, or sublicense the Service except as allowed by law;
- use the Service in violation of applicable law.
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or if your use poses risk to the Service or others.
5. Plans and pricing
Free plan
At the time of these Terms, the Free plan includes, among other things:
- up to 5 monitored URLs;
- checks approximately every 60 minutes;
- email alerts;
- 7-day history.
We may change Free plan limits with reasonable notice where practicable.
Paid plan
Paid plans are not yet generally available. When launched, paid features, limits, and pricing will be shown in the Service or on our website. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize us and our payment processor to charge the displayed fees.
Billing. Paid subscriptions, when available, are billed in advance on a recurring basis (for example, monthly) unless stated otherwise at checkout.
Price changes. We may change paid plan prices with advance notice. Changes apply from your next billing cycle unless otherwise stated.
Refund rules for paid plans are described in Section 6 (Refund Policy) below.
6. Refund Policy
This Refund Policy applies to paid plans when they become available. The Free plan and anonymous trial do not involve charges.
6.1 General rule — no refunds
Except where required by applicable law or expressly stated in this section:
- All paid fees are non-refundable once a billing period has started.
- We do not offer refunds because you changed your mind, stopped using the Service, or did not use all features during a billing period.
- We do not provide prorated refunds or account credits if you cancel in the middle of a billing cycle.
6.2 Cancellation
You may cancel a paid subscription through the Service (or other method we provide). Cancellation stops future charges. Unless required by law:
- you keep paid features until the end of the current billing period;
- after that, your account moves to the Free plan or another plan according to the rules in effect at cancellation;
- no refund is issued for the remaining days in the current billing period.
6.3 When we may refund
We may issue a refund at our discretion, or where required by law, in cases such as:
- Duplicate or erroneous charge — you were billed incorrectly (for example, double charge or wrong amount). Contact [email protected] within 14 days of the charge with your account email and transaction details.
- Extended service failure — we may offer a credit or refund if the paid Service was unavailable for a prolonged period due to a problem on our side. This does not cover third-party outages, your network issues, or monitoring targets being down.
- Legal requirement — mandatory consumer refund rights in your jurisdiction override this policy where applicable.
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method where possible. Processing may take several business days depending on your bank or card issuer.
6.4 Chargebacks
If you dispute a charge with your bank or card issuer without contacting us first, we may suspend your account while the dispute is investigated. Please email [email protected] before filing a chargeback so we can help resolve billing issues.
6.5 Free plan and trial
- Free plan — no payment is collected; refund policy does not apply.
- Anonymous trial — no payment is collected during trial access. Trial data may be deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.
6.6 How to request a refund
Email [email protected] with:
- your account email;
- date and amount of the charge;
- reason for the request.
We will review and respond within a reasonable time. Submitting a request does not guarantee a refund except where the law requires one.
7. Notifications
Email delivery depends on third-party mail providers and your mail configuration. We are not responsible for messages filtered as spam, delayed by your provider, or sent to an incorrect address you supplied.
You can manage notification recipients inside the Service. You are responsible for obtaining consent from anyone whose email address you add for alerts.
8. Intellectual property
We own the Service, its branding, and underlying software. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for your internal or personal monitoring purposes while these Terms apply.
You retain ownership of your URLs and content. You grant us the rights necessary to operate the Service (for example, to request your URLs and store monitoring results).
9. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers such as hosting, authentication, email delivery, analytics, and payment processing. Your use of those services may be subject to their terms. We are not responsible for third-party outages outside our reasonable control.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that monitoring results will be accurate for your specific use case.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunity;
- our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
12. Indemnity
You will indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your use of the Service, URLs you monitor, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law, except to the extent caused by our intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate the Service or your account with notice where reasonable, or immediately if you materially breach these Terms or if continued provision becomes impractical.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. We may delete account data after a reasonable retention period, subject to our Privacy Policy and legal obligations.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may also be communicated through the Service or by email where appropriate. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
15. General
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
- Severability. If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
- No waiver. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Japan have exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer protection law in your country requires otherwise.
